Muthoni Musibi is an assistant professor and Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH). She studied at the University of Nairobi for the undergraduate and postgraduate course in Internal Medicine before proceeding to University of Pretoria, South Africa for the Medical Oncology sub-specialisation. She has vast experience in clinical care of cancer patients within the national and international practice guidelines and participation in the different institutional multidisciplinary tumour boards. She is involved in teaching and supervision of Medicine undergraduate, postgraduate students and Medical Oncology fellows at the University of Nairobi. She has also participated in audits, research papers, curriculum development in Oncology, conference presentations and attendance of both local and international oncology meetings. She is a founder director of ELEWA Cancer Foundation through which Health education is disseminated to the community and health care providers with focus being the primary health care providers (medical officers, clinical officers and nurses). She has Continued advisory roles as requested by the Ministry of Health in the realization of the Cancer Control and Prevention Act. She is a member of KESHO, ASCO, ESMO, KAP, KMA. She is also a philanthropist that has run free medical camp’s in Nyeri county. She has also audited hospitals throughout the country for Gender-based Violence and in Kisumu county for facility based maternal and neonatal mortality.

Thesis for Master of Public Health Baseline Survey of Hospitals Preparedness to Provide Medical and Psychosocial care for Gender Based Violence Survivors in Kenya.
Thesis for Medicine Program: Baseline Menstrual Blood Loss in Kenyan Women. This was an attempt to establish the normal amount of blood loss per woman in Kenya. Data was collected from various university students, nurses and nuns for a period of 4 months. Data collection, laboratory work and written research took a period of 6 months.
Eclampsia in Kenyatta National Hospital: Retrospective study of the geographic distribution and maternal outcome of patients with Eclampsia in Kenyatta National Hospital over a period of 10 years. Results were used to propose better management of handling the condition in our local setup.
Management Report of Special Emergencies in Obstetrics and Gynecology: Report personally managed and challenging cases in 10 different gynecological emergencies and in 10 different obstetrical emergencies.

She is setting up an organization called, She Chooses to Live Initiative. One of its burden is to reduce the number of women suffering and dying from cervical and breast cancer in Kenya by informing women to get screened and examined for these ailments. The goal of this initiative is to drastically reduce the suffering and death of women from Cervical and Breast Cancer in Kenya through creating awareness and screening.
Every year more than 3,000 women die of cervical cancer in Kenya. This disease is almost 100% preventable meaning no woman need ever die from this disease. It has been shown that it takes close to ten years for HPV infection to become full blown cancer. If women were to be screened annually in Kenya, there would probably be very few deaths from cervical cancer in the country.
She aims to creating awareness to at least 3,000 women in the next one year on cervical and breast cancer. stressing the importance of annual screening, screen at least 600 women throughout Kenya in the next one year, carry out at least 12 successful medical camps where women will be informed and screened for both cervical and breast cancer throughout Kenya.
