Africa Women’s Health Summit announces Kenya Progressive Nurses Association as a Supporting Partner
Verve Management is excited to announce that Kenya Progressive Nurses Association will be joining the 2nd Edition Africa Healthcare Extension Summit as a Supporting Partner
Kenya Progressive Nurses Association (KPNA) is a nursing association that was duly registered in1986 under Cap 108 Laws of Kenya. KPNA started this professional journey as a formidable voice for Enrolled Nurses in Kenya and was known as Kenya Enrolled Nurses Association. (KENA). KPNA’s membership spanned across the 8 provinces of Kenya and beyond. Owing to the great need for professional progression, KPNA members agitated for harmony in the profession and pressed for opportunity to allow Enrolled Nurses upgrade to Diploma level through in – service training. By 2004, KENA changed its name to Kenya Progressive Nurses Association (Kpna) because majority of her members had gone back to school and achieved Registered Nurse status at Diploma and Bachelors levels. As such, it was imperative to change names in order to align the KPNA to current realities.
Current membership is at 10,000 active members and growing, comprising of all cadres of Nurses from Certificate to PHD holders. We are in Clinical practice, Leadership, Research and Education.
KPNA is recognised by the Nursing Council of Kenya and sits at the Nursing Council Board represented by The National Chairman.
Africa Women’s Health Summit will be on 27 – 28 November 2019 at The Panari Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. Have you registered? Click www.africawomenshealth.com/register-now
